Description
Tough as nails species from central and north Korea where it tends to grow in open, sandy areas. The temptation here is to make some satirical reference to Kim Jong-un but we don't want him to go all Sony on us. There are a number of varieties of Hosta clausa and fortunately for both of us, this is the most garden-worthy. Closely resembling Hosta lancifolium but with more substance, this has moderately narrow green leaves with good ribbing and fairly tall flower scapes with open, lavender flowers. Clumps up nicely.
