What appears to be hairy goldaster blooming on gravelly, south-facing slopes along the Ironstone Trail #1141 about half way between the trailhead near Cash Prairie and Burnt Mountain. William O. Douglas Wilderness...........July 25, 2015. Note the thick, woody base and also the whitish, velvety leaves and the leafy-bracteate involucral bracts.
