LG3D

2012, The OAAA launched several initiatives aimed at improving industry business practices, enhancing the customer experience and raising the bar on creative. One of those initiatives was right up our alley! Lamar Graphics has always been at the center of creative in Lamar.

Bulletin advertising is highly effective, but is not always as exciting in today's digital age. Digital displays certainly have beneficial aspects, but nothing beats the presence, or dare we say spectacle, of an over the top outdoor execution. The best way to go from just effective to spectacular is by adding embellishments like extensions, special materials, and larger than life 3D props.

There is no arguing the additional draw generated by any combination of embellishments, but the high costs associated with these products have always limited their use. We knew the solution, but we needed a plan. We had to find a way to deploy these enhancements on a much larger scale. We had to make these options available to a wider range of our customer base. To make the prices more affordable, we pooled our resources and brought the production in-house.

Starting in late 2013, Lamar Graphics dove head first into the 3D Prop and Out of Home embellishment business and the Lamar Graphics' 3D division was born.

Extension Kits

One of the first products introduced by Lamar Graphics' new 3D/R&D Division was the Extension Kit. Historically, every Lamar plant was responsible for building and installing their own extensions (aka: cut outs or top outs). The materials used in the constructions varied greatly throughout the company.

Typical materials used were plywood and 2x4's, which are quite heavy and can degrade over time. Extension Kits are constructed of Coroplast corrugated sheeting and galvanized metal framing. These materials provide extended durability at a fraction of the weight.

3D Props

PopcornLarge scale 3D props are a great way to draw added attention to any Out Of Home advertisement.

Historically that extra attention has come at a pretty steep price. By bringing the production in house, Lamar is able to offer full 3D foam props at a reduced rate. The lower the price point, the more of an option this becomes to our customers. We're on a mission to beautify the outdoor industry and make 3D affordable to everyone! Contact your local Lamar Office to discuss options today!

Pop-Outs

Another option to grab attention are know as Pop-Outs. Pop-Outs are a lower cost alternative to full 3D Foam Props. Pop-Outs are constructed from signabond with galvanized metal framing. Instead of extending off the top or sides of your billboard ad, Pop-Outs extend off of the face itself creating the illusion of a 3D element.

Pop-Outs can be built to just about any size and fit on almost any structure, even Poster panels with metal trim (See Image).

Lighting

LightingLighting is a great way to bring attention to any Out of Home Ad.

Lighting projects can be as simple as direct-app LED modules, backlit cans and props, to fully developed backlit channel or marquee lettering. If you can dream it up, we can make it come to life.

Lighting effects can also be incorporated into our 3D and Pop-Out projects to bring even more excitement to your OOH Advertisement.

These letters are constructed from aluminum siding, a ACM backing and a crack resistance acrylic face. The face plates can be covered in vinyl film to create a wide variety of color options. The side walls and trim are also have multiple color options.
