Common Name Tremols Epipactis [Spanish Botanist late 1800's]

Found in France, Spain, Portugal, Sardinia and Corsica in grasslands, scrub, pine and oak forests at elevations up to 1600 meters as a medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a thick, densely to sparsely pubescent stem carrying 6 to 11, cauline, olive-green, sometimes red suffused, cauline, erect, oval-rounded to lanceolate to orbicular, wavy margined leaves clustered at the base and then often spirally spaced along the stem up to the inflorescence that blooms on an erect, terminal, densely many flowered inflorescence arising in the spring.
