This Ford Mustang 1969-1973 got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1971 Ford Mustang hardtop was delivered new to B&B Ford of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, and was acquired by the seller in 2018. Subsequent work consisted of installing a replacement 429ci Super Cobra Jet V8 and a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in blue over black vinyl upholstery and features include the Drag Pack option, a dual scoop hood, power steering, power front disc brakes, 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels, and a Mustang-branded radio. This Mustang is offered with a Deluxe Marti Report and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished in Bright Blue from the factory and is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Features include a dual scoop hood, bright metal trim and wheel arch moldings, dual sport mirrors, and a satin black tail panel. Corrosion is visible on both lower rear quarter panels.
The 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with 255/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features high-back front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in black vinyl with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a center console, a heater and defroster, an analog clock, lap belts, and a Mustang-branded radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel gauge. Three ancillary gauges are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 900 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 429ci Super Cobra Jet V8 is said to have been installed under current ownership and features a four-barrel carburetor, finned valve covers, and a blue engine block, intake manifold, and air cleaner assembly.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok differential. There are rust holes in the floor, and corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The Deluxe Marti report details the original colors and equipment and lists a February 23, 1971 build date.
