Cynthia, you might try planting natives that do well in shade in containers under the trees. I hope that helps.
I want to plant native plants in my mother’s front yard. She has 2 maple trees. Grass doesn’t grow needless to say. Thought of putting flagstone down and have plants on both sides underneath one of maples.She doesn’t like the wild look,use to very sculptured beds ( suberia lawns).Any suggestions? Can’t make it to meeting in Hamburg with Ken Parker unfortunately.
