| Description |
English: South-western end of the 32.5 km Afsluitdijk (completed 1932) near Den Oever (Netherlands). The salt-water tidal Waddenzee is to the left of the dike and the fresh-water non-tidal IJsselmeer is to its right. The Stevensluizen (Stevin locks) and 15 discharge sluices are in the foreground. The Lorentzsluizen (Lorenz locks) and a further 10 discharge sluices are at the far end of the dike. |
