Summary[edit]

Description Anemone palmata is regularly offered in seed exchanges and as far as I'm concerned, is always wrong. A.palmata is a lovely tuberous Spanish species, related to things like pavonina and coronaria, and when i first saw it by the road side in The Sierra de Cazorla I thought it was some sort of buttercup but with a distinct red reverse to the petals. This is clearly not it but there are so many small to medium sized Anemone in cultivation I can't say what it is. It's not unpleasant but I'd prefer the real palmata if anyone has it.
