Flights to America by low-cost airline WizzAir
There is a possibility that direct transatlantic flights will be launched from London-Luton Airport by WizzAir, as Polish travelling portal Pasazer.com reported.
The airline company is planning to open to the eastern shores of the United States. They are planning to use their 10 new Airbus A321ceo type planes to establish new travelling routes between the two continents. They have ordered these new planes in an air convention in Paris in June.
The 10 new members of the fleet are expected to arrive sometime in 2018 or 2019. The airline company claimed earlier that they need the new planes until the arrival of the A321neos to satisfy the capacity surplus.
WizzAir might launch their new flights from London to New York and Toronto as early as next March.
WizzAir opened its new British subsidiary in September. WizzAir UK submitted its requests for AOC and OL licenses to the British authorities of aeronautics recently. The new company launches in March 2018. Its base of operations will be in London-Luton and they will receive new planes.
The company claimed that this was necessary because of the uncertainty caused by Brexit, but Pasazer.com suggests that the British AOC license is needed because the airline company intends to expand to the transatlantic market.
