Galium Odoratum, commonly known as Sweet Woodruff is a deciduous, mat forming perennial with lance shaped, bright green leaves which form large clumps of colours, known to be lightly scented. In April through to June the Galium Odoratum produces small star-like, white flowers above the lovely foliage which add to the colour.
Often planted in flower beds and borders, used for ground cover or underplanting of trees, roses and other shrubs. This shrub can suit many, if not all planting schemes.
Galium Odoratum care
Plant the Galium Odoratum in a sunny, partially shaded location with moist, well drained soils where it will thrive. The leaves can scorch if in extremely long lengths of sun. Known to be generally disease and pest free and requiring no pruning makes the Galium Odoratum a perfect low maintenance perennial, perfect for both beginner and expert gardeners alike. Sometimes you may need to lift and divide the plant in autumn months to prevent it becoming too invasive.
