Munoz attended college in England. The artist attended school in London at Croydon College followed by a stint at the Central School of Art and Design. Munoz also studied at the Pratt Institute in New York City.

Munoz was married to a sculptor and installation artist named Cristina Iglesias.

The artist was a participant in the Venice Biennial.
