This sprawling deciduous tree occurs over much of the West, from Kansas to Mexico. Our seed was collected in Fort Stockton, Texas. Prominent spines occur in pairs at the base of the weeping, bright green compound leaves. Creamy yellow catkin are followed by long brown pods. Plant in full sun and shape as needed. This tree needs plenty of room to spread and develop.
