SOWING: Sow seeds indoors in early spring in flats or individual peat pots. Barely cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil. Water carefully with warm water and provide plenty of bright light.
TRANSPLANTING: Transplant indoor started seedling outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and weather has warmed considerably.
SPACING: Leave about 2 feet between plants in rows 3 feet apart or more.
GERMINATION: 2 weeks indoors at 70°. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Grow as you would tomatoes in sunny location with fairly rich well-drained soil. Ground cherry is slow to develop but produces abundantly later in season. A unique addition to your vegetable garden. Provide caging or trellis support or allow to sprawl along ground on clean dry mulch.
