Ocean Mist
Our Japanese Iris are in full bloom at the moment. If there is a flower that stops you in your tracks, this is it. Each year our plants have gotten larger and this year they have more flowers than ever. With all the rain we have had this year, they are spectacular!
Japanese iris require moist soil in order to bloom.
Ocean Mist is my favorite Japanese Iris, pictures above. I have included several pictures of Ocean Mist.

Hi Allen, they are beautiful. I will be dividing in August, would you like a piece?
Thank you Michael. I appreciate the offer but I have so many perennials now that I’d have to get rid of something to fit another one in, and that’s no exaggeration.
Absolutely gorgeous flowers!
Stunning! I love Iris and these are so different from the Bearded Variety which I have. Thanks for sharing their beauty.
I love iris and you have some beautiful varieties. I need to add to my my iris beds and get some more colorful varieties. Lovely images too!
thank you, the Japanese Iris are not hard to grow, they just need a lot of water. You should give them a try 🙂
Those are really beautiful!

They are all really beautiful!
thank you, it’s call King Clovis, see this link; http://www.ensata.com/HTML/PlantPages/species_&_bog.htm 🙂
I love irises and those are show stoppers, Michael! I’ve never tried Japanese Iris here.
thank you Susan! They are easy to grow as long as they get a lot of water, well worth the effort when they bloom! 🙂
Wow, at first I thought your photograph was a painting! We have iris in our garden.. one that has had a showy large flower, but the rest are struggling.. I’m going to have to fertilize them a bit perhaps. You’ve inspired me to plant more in different parts of the garden where they will have a better chance of growing and flowering! Yours are stunning!
Good morning Barbara! Congratulations on you new venture with the Canadian Food web site, how exciting!! Thank you, if you fertilize, iris like an acidic soil, us something like liquid fish emulsion!
Thank you, I’ll try that!
These are so beautiful, I love them all! 🙂
