Israel shells villages in the countryside of Syria’s Quneitra, SANA

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli army bombed villages in the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, the official Syrian news agency SANA said on Wednesday evening.

The vicinity of al-Hurriya village in the northwestern countryside of Quneitra, was bombed by Israeli forces, SANA reported.

“The sounds of explosions could be heard in the area,” it added.

“The Israeli army bombed the village of Rahiya with heavy tanks. The shelling coincided with intense flying of helicopters and drones over the region,” according to SANA.  

On the other side, the Israeli army spokesman said Israeli tanks opened fire toward a number of suspects in military posts near the border with Syria on Wednesday evening.

On December 28, 2021, Israeli warplanes raided the port of Latakia on the Syrian coast.
