Sedum GoodStars, Stonecrop GoodStars, Ice Plant GoodStars, AGM Hylotelephium, Succulent perennial, Sedum Hybrid.
This lovely Sedum (Hylotelephium) Spectabile hybrid produces dense , pale buds and then large mauve flowers, up to 10cm wide. Stems are flushed pink and buds begin almost white, then open to a two-tone pink with lighter coloured, long pointed petals before maturing to a rich, deep mauve.
They contrast beautifully with the tight foliage which is mostly olive-green and may display scarlet edges on its upper leaves. This award winning Succulent perennial forms 40cm tall clumps of thick, fleshy foliage topped with flower buds resembling broccoli – a super Succulent for modern gardeners, tolerant of much drought and wind.
Fading flowers (inflorescences) will remain attractive over winter providing some additional interest and shelter for beneficial insects.
At a time when most plants have stopped blooming in Autumn this provides colour, form and contrast in gardens – especially gravel, roofs, containers and other difficult to grow in areas with light shade, poor soil or excess wind. Ensure good drainage and in a few years this will grow into an outstanding plant you will be proud of.
Available in our usual 2.5cm wide x 4cm high net plugs.
The price reflects top grade, very well rooted plugs with 2 or 3 growth buds for the coming season and, probably ,many more hidden inside.
