Iris chrysopraphes – Black Iris
SKU: n/a.$15.99
As dramatic as a Shakespeare tale, Black-Flowered Iris, Iris chrysographes, captures our rapt attention. In late spring to early summer velvety dark purple to black 2-4″ wide flowers top sword-like foliage. For a designer look, place the 1-2′ plant next to one with round leaves, such as Crainsbill. The flowering is just a bonus with this great look.
Use Black Iris in perennial and Iris beds. It makes a beautiful addition to cutting and cottage gardens. Try it as a stunning backdrop to other perennials or as a stand-out focal point.
Growing instructions: Plant Black Iris in sun to light shade locations. Add compost or other organic matter when planting. It will perform best with consistent moisture.
