Amethyst
Phlox ‘Amethyst’ ranges from red-violet to amethyst-purple in color.
Plant Description
Phlox ‘Amethyst’ is one of the so-called ‘changeling’ phlox, whose flower color changes markedly according to differing light conditions. The flowers are a rather nice medium-purple by day, but deepen to a rich purple at dusk and dawn, and during cloudy days. Planting it in part shade will cause the purple color to linger longer through the day. The broad rounded panicles are noticeably attractive even in the bud stage, as the unopened buds are white. Set against the dark stems and bracts, this cultivar positively sparkles.
