If you are wondering why you haven’t seen fireworks portraits before, it’s because it’s very difficult and high-level photography. Fireworks and portraits are completely different technical skill sets and I have studied them both extensively for many years before finally combining them into one offering. I have spent several years now practicing and honing this technique of portraiture mixed with long exposure fireworks photography.
I now offer a family, couples or friend group fireworks shoots on Wednesday and Thursday nights during the summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day). After the fireworks show, we will also take some evening portraits around the area. These come out beautiful with the colorful lights and backgrounds in these areas.
This is a unique opportunity to create one-of-a-kind vacation memories that no one else is likely to have. Availability is limited due to the short window of fireworks season.
The cost is $495 and the finished gallery consists of 20-25 digital photos including fireworks and evening portraits. These sessions last from approximately 8:00pm-9:30pm. Before the show we will practice the poses so that we can move through them pretty quickly during the fireworks show and get as many shots as we can.
Wednesday night’s shoot will be at the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island (shown in these photos) and the night session will be around the pier and Boardwalk areas.
Thursday night’s shoot will be on the west side of Norriego Point with the fireworks in the background and the night session will be on the east side of Norriego Point with Harborwalk Village in the background. (Be prepared for a little extra sand walking on the Thursday night shoot but it will be worth it).

Please be aware that due to the nature of this type of photography, children should be old enough to be able to stay reasonably still for 3-5 seconds at a time. Too much moving around will not work with this type of photography.
