Uma Thurman appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, wearing an ensemble to support her philanthropic causes. Thurman wore a white T-shirt from the nonprofit organization Room to Grow, featuring the name of the organization and three circles in various shades of blue. She paired the T-shirt with a royal blue skirt that featured two lighter blue contrasting circles and blue suede pumps.
Room to Grow is a 25-year-old charity that helps parents and children in low-income circumstances. Julie Burns founded the organization, and at the time when she was starting the charity, Thurman was her neighbor. The actress was also pregnant with her first child, Maya Hawke, which led to Thurman’s interest in helping mothers in need and becoming involved with Room to Grow.
During her segment on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the actress and the host discussed parenthood, the expansion of Room to Grow and how those interested in donating can help contribute to the organization.
Room to Grow is in New York and Boston, and has plans to expand to a third region, although no concrete details have been revealed about where yet.
Although Thurman is not discussing her acting projects due to the ongoing SAG strike, this year she had two major film projects, including “The Kill Room” starring alongside Joe Manganiello and Samuel L. Jackson, and the Prime Video hit movie “Red, White & Royal Blue.” The latter is an adaptation of Casey McQuinton’s novel, where the son of the President of the United States falls in love with the Prince of England. Thurman played President Ellen Claremont in the film starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.
On Monday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Fallon also interviewed Lil Rel Howery. The musical guest for the night was Feist, who performed her song “Hiding Out in the Open.”
