About this item
- Achillea filipendulina, or Yarrow, is a hardy perennial that is a favorite of many gardeners. This variety, Parker, has flattened clusters of yellow flowers that form above grayish-green, fern-like foliage. The flower clusters are long-lasting and can reach 4 inches across.
- Yarrow parker is a 3 to 4 foot tall perennial yellow flower growing in USDA zones 3 - 10.
- Yarrow makes a great cut flower, and it dries well for use in dried arrangements. To dry, hang the Parker Yarrow upside down in a well-ventilated, dark, dry room.
- Start Yarrow 6 - 8 seeds per plant indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Press the seed into soil, lightly cover it and keep the seed moist. With a temperature of 68F, germination is usually in 21 days.
- Grow Yarrow in full sun. It prefers well-drained soil, and it is usually deer resistant. Space plants 30 inches apart. In areas with long growing season, Yarrow can be directly started outdoors after danger of frost has passed. It takes 90 days from sowing to blooming. Deadheading promotes continual bloom, and the clumps should be divided every 3 – 4 years to keep the plant healthy.

Product Description
Lovely Cut-Flower
While parker yarrow has traditional medicinal uses, it also makes for an excellent harvested flower in both fresh and dried arrangements.
Yarrow (Achillea Filipendulina Parker)
Easily to establish from seeds, Achillea Parker is an upright, clump-forming perennial which is noted for its deeply-dissected, fern-like, aromatic, grayish-green foliage. It is also known for its tiny, long-lasting, bright golden flowers which appear in dense, flattened clusters that can measure up to 4 inches across. It is sometimes referred to as Fernleaf Yarrow.
Yarrow flowers bloom throughout the summer and autumn and grow on stiff, erect stems reaching 36 - 48 inches in height. The Yarrow herb was important throughout the centuries as a medicinal herb. Many people grew the herb seeds for a plant that was useful in the treatment of wounds. Achillea Yarrow grows best in lean soils with dry to medium moisture that are well-drained. Yarrow plants like positions in full sun and protected from strong winds. Yarrow makes excellent cut flowers, and also dry well for crafts and dried flower arrangement.

How to Grow
To get a jump on the growing season, yarrow seeds should be sown indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost. Sow the seeds into starter trays or small pots by pressing into the soil without covering: light aids germination.
Alternatively, these seeds can be sown directly outdoors after all frost danger has passed. Sow into prepared seedbeds with a spacing of 30 inches between each plant site.
Keep seeds moist until germination, which will occur in 14-21 days under proper conditions. A packet of 5000 seeds will cover approximately 300 square feet.
