Which public transportation pass should I buy in Amsterdam?

Angel's point of view

When you spend a weekend or at least 3 days in Amsterdam, in my opinion, you should think about buying a public transportation pass for the city…

Getting around Amsterdam is quite easy (except by car). Public transportation and biking are the absolute best ways to get around.

All the information you need about the tram, the bus, the metro, and the ferry, etc.

There are several very convenient modes of transportation in Amsterdam:

  1. 15 Tram lines
  2. 41 Bus lines
  3. 4 Metro lines
  4. 7 Ferry connections

You will find all of the tram lines across from the main station (Stationsplein).

An information and sales point “GVB Tickets & Info,” is open from 7am to 9pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 9pm at weekends. You can also find a rather discreet ticket machine there (see photo…).

Day or multi-day passes do not take you to the airport, nor do they allow you to board trains around Amsterdam. For that, you need to buy the Amsterdam Travel Ticket.
To include some museums, you should buy the Amsterdam City Card, described below.
