Viola cornuta 'Alba' is a spreading evergreen perennial to 15cm in height with light green, lance-shaped leaves and pure-white, long-spurred flowers, each 2cm across. Best grown in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.

Deadhead to prolong flowering and, after first flowering, cut back vigorous plants to keep them compact. They can be attacked by slugs, snails, and aphids, and may rarely be subject to powdery mildews and pansy leaf spots.

Foliage: Evergreen. Untrialled here, but if true to name, should prove a particularly floriferous alba.

Height: 10-15cm

Spread: 20-40cm - in 2-5 years

The pictures in this listing are examples of the available plant at maturity and do not indicate anything in regard to the size of the plant at the point of sale.

Organically-produced young plant, grown in a 9cm pot for planting immediately or to grow on (pot removed when possible, to reduce plastic waste).
