Mexican hyssop is very rich flowering with red-violet flower spikes above grey-green leaves. Its growth is tightly upright. Agastache mexicana has a long flowering period from July to October and the flowers smell aromatic, slightly lemony and thus attract bees and butterflies. This perennial is native to North America and is ideal for sunny locations in beds, prairie-like and natural plantings as well as herb gardens. The fine-aromatic leaves are perfectly suitable for aromatic tea and can also be used as an culinary herb for salads, sauces or meat. The beautiful flowers are edible as well. They can be sprinkled on pudding, fruit desserts or salads.The soil should be light and permeable.
