The time taken for perennial seeds to germinate varies from species to species. Some take a few weeks or months while others need up to 2 years. Not all seeds germinate at the same time and most species DO NOT have a 100% germination rate. Some species need to be chilled, scarified or soaked in water in order to germinate. This applies to several species of vines, trees, shrubs, tropicals and large seeds.

COLD STRATIFY ALL PERENNIALS, SHRUB & TREE SEEDS for at least 30 days unless the plant specific instructions indicate a longer period of stratification.

If you are unsure of the best way to germinate the seeds, pls DO NOT SOW ALL THE SEEDS. Keep some in case the germination method you use doesn’t work.

Some of the seeds we offer are more tailored to experienced gardeners. If you are new to gardening, you might want to start with annuals such as Petunias or Snapdragons.

Plant specific instructions can be found on most of the listings as well. Please read both. Right click on the page to print and the page can also be translated.

Answer: No, we do not include planting instructions for a number of reasons. The main reason is that our planting instructions are very detailed and paper adds more weight and bulk. More weight and bulk means a higher shipping cost and since we ship worldwide, the shipping fees would be higher than the price of the seeds. A lot of experienced gardeners have their own sowing techniques as well.

Seeds are packed in very tiny ziploc bags, glassine, labelled with the genus/species/variety of each plant and shipped in a very small bubble mailer. Depending on the size of the seed, we can fit up to 10 seed packets in that small bubble mailer.

Seeds are also packed and labelled this way because it has to go through customs. We do our best to minimize waste so we have a no frills packaging rule. It's also cost effective for both the buyer and the seller. We hope to find an alternative to ziploc bags in the future.

Seed counts over 100 seeds are approximate. Seeds like Lobelia, Begonia, Calluna etc. are very fine (like dust). Lobelias are sold per 500 to thousands per seed packet. We cannot weigh it since it's super tiny and it's not feasible to hand count it if we have multiple orders so we measure it in other ways. 99.9% of the time, you'll get more seeds.

Permits are expensive. About $120 I believe ( Correct me if I'm wrong ). If you still want a permit for seeds NOT on the list, please contact me. Otherwise, it is the buyers responsibility to know which plants are allowed in their country.

Our business, business permit and seed permit is located in California. Returns can be sent to our Anaheim CA address and we ship from there in emergency situations only. We do not accept local pickups. I'm from the US so I can only speak English. The orders are temporarily being shipped from Germany. We have a US permit to ship seeds to the US and since we are in Europe at the moment, we have no problems shipping within the EU as well.

If you purchase from us, you agree that a permit is necessary in order to receive your order and one will be created for you by Bloom Outlet. The permit is connected to our own US permit. In the "NOTE TO SELLER" section, please write "CREATE A PERMIT FOR ME" AND your PHONE NUMBER. You can also create the permit yourself by going to the USDA website. Shipments are addressed to one of the 16 USDA Plant Inspections (preferably near you) and USDA forwards the shipment after inspection at no additional cost. We can provide you with a contact number for the USDA we address your shipments to if you wish. ALL seed shipments coming from another country REQUIRE a permit. Without a permit, Aphis will destroy the order.

Pelleted seeds are considered "Obscured Seeds" by USDA. Obscured seeds needs more paperwork on top of the normal permit plus sample etc. The normal permit, with the invoice, packing list is at least 2 pages. Max height of the mailers here needs to be 0.39 inches otherwise shipping is $5.80. We apologize but we're unable to create permits for Obscured Seeds. There's already so much paperwork with a normal permit. We have tried breaking the pellets for small amounts (like 20 seeds) but it is a pain.

Processing Time: 3-10 Business Days (Monday-Friday. Not including holidays). We need to create permits for USA orders so it takes time. If you want to create the permit yourself and email it, pls do so.

Delivery Time: It takes around 8-10 busn days for the package to arrive at USDA. Max 14 days.

We CANNOT control how long it takes Aphis to inspect the seeds and ship the order to you that's why the delivery date shows approximately 20 or so days. This date is APPROXIMATE. You might get it sooner or later. Some plant inspection stations (not sure if all) will allow pickups if you live close to one. IF YOU ARE IN A RUSH, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER. You only need to provide us the authorization to create a permit and your phone number once. The permit is valid for 3 years and amended to whatever your are purchasing for future orders ( changing genus/species on the permit etc). Why does USDA want your phone number? They do random verifications to make sure you gave me authorization to create a permit for you and if they have any questions or concerns, they will contact you or me.
