Have patience with this plant, perennials are fussy.

GREENHOUSE: For Perennial plant sales sow Mar. 1st in 2.25 in/6 cm peat pots @ 6 seeds per pot scattered on the soil surface. Press seeds lightly into the soil surface and do not cover seed. Germinate @ 60°F/16°C uniform soil temp. for 20 days. Higher temps. (65-70°F/18-21°C) prevent germination. Grow @ 55°F/13°C to prevent leggy growth. Plants flower the following year during April - June, in a dwarf Dianthus manner, with mats of green foliage covered with lavender, rose and lilac blooms.

DIRECT SEEDING: Scatter seed outdoors in rock gardens during late Sept. or early Apr. for Spring plants. Sow seed as above @ 4 seeds per in/25 mm Thin plants to 4 in/10 cm apart. Choose a light sandy soil with good drainage and partial shade. Make divisions each Spring and take cuttings from your favorite shades during July, after the flowering cycle. A gentle shearing at this time promotes new growth and encourages some additional fall blooms.
