Pennisetum 'Hameln' is an ornamental grass that can be found in many places. The grass is also known as Lampshade grass. It is attractive to look at, strong and requires little maintenance. Pennisetum has narrow, drooping leaves and can produce beautiful panicles of flowers from July to September. In fall, the panicles turn browner. The plant is at its most beautiful when several are planted together. Nowadays, the panicles are often dried and used with other dried flowers as a bouquet, which also looks very attractive!
Care
The Pennisetum 'Hameln' is an easy plant to care for. The ornamental grass prefers a place in the sun, but will also grow if placed in semi-shade. Furthermore, do not let the soil dry out, the plants prefer moist soil. Prune the grass around January/February so that it grows back more nicely in the spring. Eventually, the Pennisetum 'Hameln' can grow to about 200 cm high. In addition, the grass is non-toxic to animals.
