The Flight of the Feathered Serpent
This begins with the true story of a journalist in the Second World War. His life changes inexplicably after he meets a mysterious man who leaves him a series of profound writings. One of the writings is a firsthand account of Judas s life with Jesus and the events leading up to his betrayal. The writings also contain extraordinary insights into the lives of Judas, Jesus, and the Disciples, which seem to correlate with the recently discovered Gospel of Judas. Could these be the teachings of Judas Iscariot and his account of his relationship with Jesus? Could this be Judas s attempt to clear his name in an effort to change the worlds perceptions and help humanity in its spiritual quest?

A fragment from the book of one night on a solitary hill, after Judas and his 'Rabbi', Jesus, have talked for a while;
"I remained silent, and my Rabbi as well.quote from Ch. 9, 3rd Book.
Then a great light as man could never imagine enveloped us both.
And I heard great words of truth spoken in the Kingdom of Heaven.
And I knelt down at the feet of my Rabbi and exclaimed,
“I know now who you are!”
However my Rabbi put his hands on my lips, looked tenderly at me and said,
“Judas, beloved of my heart, what you have seen, keep it quiet, for my hour has not yet arrived. And it is necessary that destiny is fulfilled, and you will help me in it.”
3 Books in 1, each incredibly moving. In book one war journalist Armando gets caught up in the whirlwind of life, losing touch with God and himself, but inside him a fire starts to burn. An 'otherworldly' kind of man full of love appears in his life and guides him. He says to Armando “The only thing that really has importance in all this mess is that the Feathered Serpent wants to fly already, but has its feet shackled to the ground.....”
This mysterious man leaves Armando material to publish about Judas Iscariot and these form book two and three. Book two is a great teaching, about the love which can transform and the need for man to wake up! It is highly symbolic, but you feel you're reading a very important message just for you, one you can understand more and more each time you read it.
The 3rd book is nothing less than a privilege to read! An account from the times of Jesus and his disciples. You'll have to read it for yourself. One part that is particularly out of this world is when Judas first meets Jesus.
Judas is not the betrayer many believe him to be, rather he was Jesus' most advanced disciple who carried out a terribly difficult mission that his Rabbi Jesus wanted him to fulfill. It's about time for these things to be known. One of my favourite books ever!

Haven't quite finished reading this book, but so far the book has me glued to the pages. This book explains more in detail about Judas Iscariot and why he was not the evil villain that he is portrayed in the bible, gives an interesting twist on the discovery of the Gospel of Judas that was hidden for over 1700 years, the intimate relationship that he and Jesus had and the explaination of the bogus setup of Jesus. There is so much wisdom to be learn in this book, it may give you an understanding of new things that you may have never imagined. This book is Soul Inspiring!!

This unique book is unbelievably powerful and inspiring from beginning to end. The true story of a journalist who befriends a mysterious man that leaves him a set of profound writings to publish (that are found in the second half of the book) which could forever change the way we think of what we know about historical figure Judas Iscariot.

It's hard to give my perspective of this book in one sentence, but if I had to choose, I'd say "Hard to put away and always keep it within hand's reach to read a few pages and feel inspired."
When you decide to pick up this book, you'll soon notice that you'll be glued to the pages from the start and it's hard to put it away. The first part is around the time of the 2nd world war where a journalist tries to attain greater intelligence. He meets a mysterious man who little by little gives him information regarding life and himself. When reading through this book it feels as if you are making the same journey as the journalist and the teachings given inspire you in a heartfelt way. On the other hand it puzzles you and makes you question life and yourself to gain a deeper understanding.
The second book speaks about Men of the Mayab, spiritual longing and love. It is a deeper teaching that speaks to you in a way that you can relate to but not fully understand. I found this part to be very inspiring and at the same time humbling due to its deep messages that I have yet to find the meaning of.
The third book brings you as a reader into the times of Jesus and the incredible teachings he gave to his disciples. The story of Jesus is told from Judas's perspective and the teachings he and the other disciples received. This part goes into much more depth than the four gospels go and adds another layer of understanding to the Christian teachings, a more hidden and mystical one. It gives Judas a voice that has been untold and should not be ignored when looking for a complete picture of the Christian religion.
As this book emerged before the Gospel of Judas, it really baffles one as to how this information came into this book and who the man was that taught Armando Cosani. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in spirituality, ancient sacred teachings, or Christianity. You won't regret the read.

This book is amazing on so many levels!
Cosani's journalistic writing style & story telling makes it difficult to put this book down once you get started.
The book itself is full of amazing spiritual teachings, in the likes of the many texts of the Nag Hammadi Library - very deep and inspiring stuff.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about this book is that it contains material that is extremely similar to the secret teachings contained in the recently discovered Gospel of Judas - only this book was written years prior to the Gospel's discovery (before it's content was even known)...
Definitely one of the most prized books on my shelf - I get something new out of it each time I read it.

I must have read this book at least two or three times. While the information in it is amazing - an alternate look at Judas as an advanced disciple of Jesus (which correlates well with the Gospel of Judas found years after this book's publication). The really valuable part of this book is the humanity shown by Judas, through reading the first section or the more archaic second and historical third sections I have been able to feel feelings like care and love and compassion. I truly believe that books like this improve the genuine humanity within the people who read them. I highly recommend it to everyone.

A mysterious account (the book is said NOT to be a fiction) of a journalist with a special man who possessed extraordinary wisdom and qualities, and left the author a manuscript to publish. This is one of the best books I've ever read. Every time I've ever read it, it's given me something new and I've always come away form it feeling more inspired and like I've learned something deeply important for myself and my own journey. I'd really recommend it so much to anyone. It's now been released for free as an E-book for anyone who would like to read it that way. It is divided into 3 books - the first part is so easy to relate to - and my heart feels this common understanding with Armando Cosani - what he goes through in his life, how he reacts to the events, and how he's led from one end to another - yet always looking to understand and connect back to Spirituality. It contains some very deep and beautiful description on the power of prayer.
The second book leaves a deep imprint in my heart and a deeper yearning to experience what Judas is experiencing, to feel the love of the Divine, of receiving and merging with it - it is so beautiful, and it is poetic - each time I re-read the second story, I get touched and gain some deeper understanding of it all.
The third story literally makes my heart cry for the understanding needed, the love needed for what took place the fateful night described in the book - I cannot say more, as it would give spoilers.

I think its pretty much accurate to say that I have read this book 20 times over in a period of 9 years, and I will continue reading it.
My first Flight of the feathered serpent book I got is in a condition where the pages falls out, because I read it so manny times, so I got 3 more. I guess I'm trying to relate how I feel about it but I'm failing. Its better.
At one point I thought that If the world comes to an end in a post apocalyptic scenario that the only thing I would take is this book.
The story it relates is a true story that is in my opinion pure magic. It talks directly to the soul on the deepest level, and every time I read it again it relates a different meaning just as profound as the previous one.

One of my all time favourites. This book just stays with you, looong after you've read it. It's like an important person you've 'met', things just aren't quite the same after. There are so many profound teachings immersed in an engrossing story, it's the kind of book you can dip into knowing a relevant pearl of wisdom will jump right out but can also read from start to finish because of the narrative.
It gives a very interesting spin on the figure of Judas. Great for those who are interested in less conventional spirituality or the esoteric side of Christianity!

This is an amazing book. It's the kind of book you know you can keep reading over and over again and get something new out of it. I know that much of it was over my head and look forward to another read so I can gather even more insight and understanding.

Thoughts and views of hundreds of years for esotericism demolished and a new way of reflection and revision lies ahead.
This book, which I have now as a study guide, helped me unblock of views, opinions and things I had read about that time and actually see things for myself in daily life.
I think this book is timeless and speaks to our times with the language of truth. Urged to revise things for yourself,to meditate, reflect and discover that many of them were written are far from the real history of mankind.

An amazing book. I enjoyed it the first time but have recently picked it up again and have found SO much more to it that I clearly missed on the first time through.
I strongly suggest you read this book, but read slowly. The more you study the more spiritual gold you can extract from its pages, which is truly amazing.
Since reading this book years ago I find myself often thinking of it, particular lines, phrases and teachings. It really has struck me within the heart, and provided much inspiration and cause for reflection.

I just ordered it again to spend more time on the second part about the Mayans, but the first and last parts are worth reading many times.
After you read it, read 'The Gospel of Judas', Second Edition Reprint by Rodolphe Kasser.
Keep in mind that 'The Flight of the Feathered Serpent' was written many years before the Judas Gospel was translated and released to the public - that is crucial. And haunting. Wow! No wonder early copies were destroyed by the church.
If the second part starts to bog you down, just skip it to the third part about Judas.
After you read it, read 'The Gospel of Judas', Second Edition Reprint by Rodolphe Kasser.

One of my absolute favorites. Back when this book was in print, I could barely keep a copy for myself before giving it to someone hoping they would enjoy it as much as I do. As of now, you cannot get a hard copy of this translation anymore, but you can download it freely at theflightofthefeatheredserpent.com.

I have been looking for this book for quite some time now, and I can't seem to find it. The only version existent is a paperback one that costs 500 dollars on Amazon. If anyone knows where to find a paperback version with a reasonable cost or even a digital one, please reply/message me!

This book warrants deeper evaluation and rereading. It starts off fairly straightforward, containing a definite hook and wisdom in context. The second part of the book missed context entirely. Half the time I felt what I was reading contained a deeper wisdom, the other half I was simply at a loss by the overabundance of symbolism far beyond purpose or necessity.
The third part of the book was both deeply moving and profound. All in all I honestly appreciate the context of this mysterious telling, but I am not convinced that my struggle through some of this prose was deep or meaningful by default. For this reason I refrain from giving it four stars. Perhaps when I get around to reread my viewpoint will change. At the same time I would still recommend this book to anyone who is curious for it is highly original and unlike anything I have read before.
