#CIF-Carribean Knowledge-Exchange and Results Close-Out Workshop , Portsmouth, Dominica🇩🇲, April 8-12, 2024
#InPartnership with the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernization, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment of the Commentwealth of Dominica, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank (WB), we just concluded five(5) amazing days of Knowledge-Exchange bringing together six(6) Small Island Development States (Dominica🇩🇲, Jamaica 🇯🇲; Saint-Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint-Lucia, Grenada🇬🇩, and Haiti 🇭🇹 ) as well as the Carribean Regional Program Track.
#This five-day event took stock of the Results achieved and showcased innovations of the CIF’s Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR), discussed challenges faced during implementation, promoted knowledge sharing and compiled lessons learned from 15 years of PPCR experience on the ground in all these 6 individual countries and at the regional level, conducted a consultation on the design of the CIF’s New Climate Resilience Program (CRP), as well as collecting data for the end-of-term evaluation of the PPCR . In addition, field visits were organized at end of the week for participants to see, firsthand, the transformational impact of CIF’s climate resilience projects in Dominica.
#We are particularly honored and very thankful to Honorable Cozier Frederick, Minister of Environment, Rural Modernization, Kalinago Upflitment and Constituency Empowerment of Dominica for his memorable speech at the opening ceremony of this event, and to our high level panelists for their insights and strong knowledge of the Caribbean climate issues and their acknowledgment of the transformational PPCR experience in the region over the last 15 years as well as raising the urgency of scaling up climate resilience finance in the SIDS, and how CIF in partnership with its implementing MDBs can play a critical role in this process. In addition, a panel on “Women and Climate Leadership in the Caribbean “ was delivered with wonderful insights .
