🌱Plant breeder & Horticulturist in 🇨🇭🇩🇪🇫🇷 Breeding hardy Passiflora🍈 watermelon🍉, perennial kale and beans. 🥬Finding new perennial vegetables. 🌴Domesticating wild crops. 🍋Introducing new unusual crops!
A rare and promising hardy passionfruit hybrid! This is a second generation interspecific hybrid between Passiflora edulis f. edulis and Passiflora caerulea. The goal is as always: hardy passionfruits. For now this hybrid is very promising: 👉Good vigour. 👉 extremely floriferous 👉 fruits and pollen It’s probably not yet hardy enough, but it’s definitely a great intermediate step to getting hardy passionfruits. 🍈Passiflora edulis is your classic passionfruit you can find in supermarkets or in ‘Maracuja’ juice. 🍈Passflora caerulea is a blue flowered hardy evergreen passionflower. It’s also well adapted to cool climates like northern Germany or the UK. Can’t wait to continue testing this plant and creating new hybrids with it. It’s the best out of around 25 seedlings out of the same or similar crosses. Other plants grew stunned, dropped flower buds, or didn’t produce flower buds 7 month after sowing seeds.

طالبی نام علمی؛ cucumis melo var. cantalupensis خانواده: Cucurbitaceae Cantaloupe is a cultivar of the muskmelon, a member of the Cucurbitaceae (gourd) family. Like its parent, it is a warm-season annual vine that produces large fruit. The parent plant is probably native to Asia, although it has been in cultivation for so long that its native habitat is lost in time. The genus name Cucumis is the Latin word for cucumber. Cantaloupe needs full sun and well-drained, loose, moist, soils high in organic matter. Cantaloupe vines will grow in clay, but will likely need organic amendments to thrive. Consistent soil moisture and warm, sunny conditions are essential for this frost-tender plant. Plant seeds outdoors after the last spring frost or start the seeds indoors in pots or other containers about four to six weeks prior to the last spring frost date. Pick fruit when young (older melons toughen as they mature). These vines produce large, sweet, juicy fruit whose average weight is 3 pounds, but can range from 1 to 11 pounds. The ripe melons have a sweet, musky scent. Cantaloupe plants are long, trailing vines that are typically supported by cages or trellises. If there is enough space, though, they can be allowed to trail along the ground. They need a lot of space and are typically grown in an edible or cottage garden. With proper support they work well as a vertical planting.

Oryctes rhinoceros is a large beetle (typically 4–5 cm long), belonging to the rhinoceros beetles, subfamily Dynastinae, of the family Scarabaeidae.[1] Its vernacular names include coconut rhinoceros beetle, Asiatic rhinoceros beetle, and coconut palm rhinoceros beetle.[2] O. rhinoceros attacks coconut palms and other palms like the economically important oil palm. It can cause serious damage to the developing fronds (leaves) up to death of the palm. The beetle breeds in decaying palm trunks or other organic matter like sawdust or compost heaps.[3][4]

About Camellia japonica, even it is not native to Australia, but in Para Hills Australia, is a flowering evergreen shrub native. It is widely cultivated for its beautiful flowers, which come in a variety of colors and forms. It's mainly grown in cooler regions with mild winters and moderate temperatures. The plant prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil and partial shade, although it can tolerate some sun. It is commonly found in southern parts of Australia, particularly in Victoria, Tasmania, and parts of New South Wales. It is important to choose a location that provides protection from hot afternoon sun and strong winds. The soil should be enriched with organic matter and kept consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Even are hardy plants, but still require some protection from frost and extreme heat. Mulching around the base of the plant can help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature. Regular watering, especially during dry periods, is important for the plant's overall health and flower production. Pruning to maintain the shape and size of the plant can be done after the flowering period. Camellias generally bloom in winter and early spring, producing large, showy flowers in various shades of red, pink, and white.
