Renowned actress and model Carmen Electra has officially filed legal documents seeking to change her birthname, Tara Leigh Patrick, to the iconic stage name by which she is universally recognized-Carmen Electra.

The paperwork, obtained by TMZ, suggests that after more than three decades in the entertainment industry, Carmen desires her stage identity to be her legal identity on official government documents.

Electra's petition was made before the new year

While it remains uncertain whether her petition has been granted, there appears to be no apparent reason for denial.

Carmen, who initially gained attention for her on-stage dancing at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, during the show "It's Magic," has been a fixture in the entertainment world since the early '90s.

She made her mark on shows like 'Baywatch,' solidifying herself as a household name.

The decision to file for the name change just before the New Year, on December 29, 2023, suggests Carmen's intention to embark on 2024 with a fresh start.

Her widespread recognition in society, particularly as a 'Baywatch' star, has made Carmen Electra a synonymous figure in the world of entertainment.

Carmen's career has seen various facets, from singing to glamour modeling, with Prince producing her debut studio album in 1993.

A stint as a glamour model for Playboy magazine preceded her breakthrough role as Lani McKenzie in the action drama series 'Baywatch.'

Beyond her entertainment career, Carmen has made headlines for her candid discussions, notably in the critically acclaimed sports documentary miniseries "The Last Dance," where she opened up about her brief relationship with Dennis Rodman.

In 2022, she ventured into the digital realm, creating an OnlyFans account to exercise creative freedom.
