Reality TV, fans know, doesn’t always align with the truth.

“The Hills” alum Justin Brescia, better known as Justin Bobby on MTV’s aughts hit, who now stars in the sequel series, “The Hills: New Beginnings,” returning for its second season Wednesday, is one such example.

“It’s a tit for tat for me,” Brescia, 39, told the Daily News over Zoom last week when asked which incarnation he prefers.

“I love the way it was shot before. I thought that it was shot really beautifully,” he continued. “Did I agree with the storylines and how they made me look? No, because it wasn’t true. This time around, I think it’s shot a little bit more quick to my liking. … But I do agree with the storylines and basically what we’re saying and doing is coming out on TV. And that little bit means more to me than some of the scenic stuff.”

Brescia was known on the original “Hills” for his bad boy persona and on-and-off relationship with Audrina Patridge, largely characterized, at least in the final product, by his habit of leading on the latter. The two rekindled the flames again in “New Beginnings” season one.

On that same call, Patridge 35, told The News she’s “right there with” Brescia.

“I definitely feel like it’s more honest now. I feel like we’re more opinionated,” she said, pointing to the confessionals enabling cast members to “speak your mind.”

“Whereas before in the old ‘Hills,’ you know, you watch it and with editing, you don’t always know … how you’re gonna look or if they’re gonna show what you said instead of a blank stare. You never know!” said Patridge, adding with a chuckle, “So there’s not as many blank stares this time around.”
