Pleioblastus pumilus is also called the Pleioblastus chino Pumilus and Sasa pumila. This bamboo plant grows between 50 cm and no higher than 75 cm in our climate.
In Japan this bamboo is 100 cm.
This bamboo plant has fresh bright green leaves and grows reasonably fast in width. The blade is powerful and shines and is reasonably firm. In proportion it is a long narrow leaf.

You can reserve a space of approximately 2 to 3 square meters for this type of bamboo.
Ideal for sub-planting, ground cover, planting or small corners that need to be filled.
In the early spring (around the beginning of April) it may be necessary to prune back the Pleioblastus pumilus to a height of about 15-25 cm.
This is certainly not necessary every year, in fact this bamboo is very friendly and easy to maintain.

However, the bamboo can suffer some leaf damage from long-term severe frost. Nothing wrong, from the root system new shoots grow again in the spring.
From the end of April / beginning of May the new fresh shoots will start to grow again and will be full again in the new magazine after a few weeks.
