They are hardy and tolerate wide range of climates, considerably early maturing breed compare to most other heritage breed. One of the most remarkable traits of Araucana chickens is their egg color. They lay eggs with shells ranging from blue to green, which are highly sought after for their novelty and aesthetic appeal. The depth of the egg colour can change depending on various factors e.g. age of the hen, season, weather and diet. Often the youngest pullets lay most impressive deep blue- green eggs and the depth of the colour gets lighter as they mature.
