A very large conifer native to temperate rainforests from coastal southeastern Alaska to northern California to 2300 m elevation. It can reach to 75 m tall with a narrow, conical crown. In cultivation, Abies amabilis is hardy to USDA Zone 5 and a popular forestry tree for temperate climates due to its fast growth.
