A deciduous, slow growing, small tree to about 8 m tall with spiny, green branches, white, scented flowers in spring and highly decorative, yellow, lemon-like fruit in autumn. The fragrant fruits are edible and have a resiny flavor that makes them a good choice for marmalade and lemonade rather than enjoying raw. By far the hardiest Citrus, reportedly suitable to temperate climates as low as USDA Zone 5 but definitely reliably hardy in Zones 7 and above.
