Description
The flowers set this subspecies apart, for they are strikingly red-tinted and may also be spotted, or infused with, red-purple. The nectaries can be purple, although sometimes only at the tips or in streaks.
Information on the distribution of this subspecies is sparse but it seems to be restricted to the western end of the Caucasus mountains.
A gorgeous plant, very distinct but please be aware that if you order this in spring or even after Christmas, then there is a good chance that it will already have flowered before you receive it.
