Hosta Hadspen Blue forms an elegant medium sized, mound of  16"-18" in height, with a spread of up to 40", at maturity. It has heart-shaped, smooth, with some dimpling when mature, thick textured, lightly ribbed, lightly cupped, glaucous, rich blue leaves. Bell-shaped pale lavender blooms appear in midsummer, rising on blue-gray scapes of about 30", but the primary reason for growing Hosta Hadspen Blue is that wonderful foliage. The wonderful colour of the leaf of Hosta Hadspen Blue, on it's own, makes it a worthwhile garden plant. It is slower to mature than most but worth the wait. Slug resistant and sun tolerant. Recipient of the Award of Garden Merit from the RHS. A great standard for any collector of 'blue' Hostas.
