Centaurea pulcherrima
DWARF PINK CORNFLOWER

Centaurea pulcherrima delights with a mass of fuzzy pink buttons (pulcherrima means beautiful in botanical latin).

The flock of little fuzzy pincushions are delightful indeed, but for me it is the neat little rosette of  lacy silver foliage that seals the beauty.

Centaurea pulcherrima makes a very decorative, finely cut silver foliage mound.
Which you can multiple plant as a neat little border edge, plant between taller plants as a pretty groundcover, or feature in a decorative container.

Centaurea pulcherrima flaunts it’s silvery foliage in Full Sun.
It is heat, dry & frost hardy.
And water conscious gardeners love it because it is water-wise and drought resistant once established.

Happily it copes well in poorer soils.

All in all it is a tough, low maintenance, evergreen perennial groundcover, with delightfully pretty and dainty looks.

30cm. High x 35cm. Wide approx.

*** Not permitted for entry into Tasmania.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY

Suitable for beginners & gardening with kids

Can be sown at any time of year. Scatter in garden / or sow in punnets indoors for early plants.

Indoors for early plants: Scatter on surface of good quality seed raising mix. Press gently into surface. Cover with 2mm of mix.

Keep away from light for best germination. So cover the punnet with cardboard or black plastic.
But check regularly, as these seeds germinate rapidly. Remove dark cover as soon as growth is seen.

Keep moist.
18-24°C is best for rapid germination.

Seedlings emerge in approx. 7-14 days.

Seed Count: 10 seeds per pack approx.
