Dictamnus albus var. purpureus
BURNING BUSH

Showy spires of mauve-pink butterfly flowers. Fragrant & long blooming spring & summer. Excellent cut flowers. Lovely citrus scented glossy foliage. Water-wise, drought resistant. Copes poorer soils, sandy or clay. Frost & dry hardy, long lived perennial. 80cm H x 60cm W.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: Warm – Cold – Cool.

Sow in winter / early spring in a punnet.

Soak seed in fresh water for 24 hours. Rinse, then sow in punnets on surface of good quality seed raising mix. Press gently and barely cover with mix or fine sandy grit. Light is needed for germination. Keep moist indoors at approx. 18-22C for 6 weeks. Then wrap punnet in cling-wrap and place in fridge (not freezer) for 6 weeks. Unwrap and return to cool shaded place, outdoors if necessary, as approx. 13C is best for rapid germination. Then most seedlings should emerge in approx. 30 days. But do not discard as some seeds will continue to sprout. Have patience – this lovely plant is worth it.

SEED COUNT: 8 large seeds per pack approx. of this rarely available plant.
