Androsace sarmentosa/studiosorum
« on: May 25, 2018, 08:48:51 PM »
There was a discussion about Androsace sarmentosa/studiosorum names/ plants identity at some point, I don't remember where.

Since I lost mine, I took cuttings from a friend last year and now that they flower I had a better look: considering the white hairs it is Androsace studiosorum (syn. A. sarmentosa ssp. primuloides). Probably most material going around in this part of the world belongs to this easy to grow subspecies.
* A. primuloides is an illegit name and so I won't give it as syn.

The 'true' Androsace sarmentosa, according with various floras descriptions it is covered in brown, or rust-coloured hairs and should be easy to distinguish.
Maybe someone has pictures with it to post here.
