Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme apologizes for kicking photographer

Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme has issued an apology to a photographer who says the frontman's violent actions sent her to the emergency room.

After snapping the band's set Saturday during KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas at Inglewood's The Forum, Chelsea Lauren posted a video to her Instagram account where Homme appears to kick a camera while onstage.

"Thanks to Josh Homme @queensofthestoneage I now get to spend my night in the ER," she captioned the video which she tagged at Cedars-Sinai. "Seriously, WHO DOES THAT?!?"

Lauren gave an update on her condition on Instagram Sunday. "My neck is a sore, my eyebrow bruised and I'm a bit nauseous," she captioned a series of photos she took of Homme at the show. "The doctor released me early in the morning."

"Assault in any form is not okay," she added, "no matter what the reasoning."

Homme has also taken to social media with regard to the incident, offering Lauren his "sincere apology" in a statement shared to the band's Twitter account Sunday. "Last night, while in a state of being lost in performance, I kicked over various lighting and equipment on our stage," his statement read. "Today, it was brought to my attention that this included a camera held by photographer Chelsea Lauren. I did not mean for that to happen and I am very sorry."

Later Sunday evening, he followed his statement with a video, where he admitted to kicking Lauren's camera and once again offered an apology.
"I don't have any excuse or reason to justify what I did," Homme said in the NSFW clip.  "And I'm truly sorry, and I hope you're OK.

"I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and last night was definitely one of them, and I apologize for that to you," he continued. "I want to be a good man but I think last night, I definitely failed at that."
