Hurricane Lee tracker live: Follow the storm's path as it moves through the Atlantic

Hurricane Lee was a Category 3 hurricane again Saturday and remained hundreds of miles from land.

While Lee has reduced in intensity from its peak at Category 5 on Thursday, it was expected to intensify yet again as it moves over open ocean.

The National Hurricane Center said high surf and life-threatening rip currents were expected to to remain through the weekend in the northeastern Caribbean. Rip currents, rough surf and hazardous conditions are forecast along much of the East Coast of the United States by Sunday evening.

A Saturday morning forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center showed that meteorologists expect Lee to begin to turn sometime around Wednesday, moving northward roughly parallel to the East Coast, still well off shore.
