  • FlowersBunches of up to 13 starry flowers to 2 cm across, in leaf axils. Extended point on anthers.

  • Growing conditionsMoist well drained deep soils in moist to wet tall forests. Frost and snow tolerant. Semi shade to dappled shade.
  • Garden useVery attractive shrub, more difficult to grow than the more commercially available forms. Will grow in full sun provided it doesn't dry out. Screen. Cut flowers.
  • Commercially availableRarely. Non-local forms available
  • Conservation statusSignificant within the Shire. Known from few local sites where it can be common. More common but scattered outside the Shire boundary.
  • Related speciesThe large local form is often referred to as "Mountain Giant". Many subspecies of P. myoporoides are available. All others occur naturally outside the Shire boundary.
