Pure white flowers bloom in summer on tall plants with deeply lobed green leaves. The Belladonna group of delphiniums are a cross between D. elatum and D. cheilanthum that have loosely branched spikes of flowers. A must have plant for the cottage garden. Delphiniums are generally considered short-lived perennials in the heat and humidity of the Midwest. Plants prefer well-drained alkaline soil.
