ex Baker & Moore (syn. Plagiorhegma dubium). Leaves kidney-shaped or nearly circular, 4-6cm wide, margin somewhat sinuous, glaucous violet when young. Flowers 2-3cm wide, light lavender-blue, with five to seven broadly ovate petals. A beautiful variant with pure white flowers is var. alba, Manchuria and North Korea, in woodland.
