Height 10-20cm. Leaves lanceolate or oblong, bluish-green, downy above, glabrous below. Stems prostrate with flowers in loose clusters at their tips, pale blue, 5-8mm long, tubular, with the anthers not projecting from the tube as in the closely allied M. viridis. Rocky Mountains at 3000-4500m on stony slopes.
