Botanical Description

Forms dense basal rosettes of 1-1.5cm long, petiolate, dark olive green spathulate leaves. Flowering stems 8-18cm high bearing spreading panicles of ten to twenty flowers, petals 8mm long, orange-yellow in the upper half, the lower half heavily spotted with reddish-purple, autumn. Western China; Sichuan and Yunnan. Flas been in cultivation and is once again from a CL D introduction; probably monocarpic.
