Botanical Description

Height to 30cm Leaves mostly basal, l-5cm wide, five to seven lobed, each lobe tripartite, broadly ovate. Flowers solitary, yellow, 2- 4cm wide, opening flat. Sepals five to six, rounded, petals ten to twelve, narrowly wedge-shaped, slightly shorter than the sepals but the same length as the stamens. Uttar Pradesh to south-western China, on open slopes.
