Bertram Anderson Lungwort

Pulmonaria longifolia 'Bertram Anderson'

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Perennial
Plant Family: Boraginaceae
Plant Description: A very dependable and showy spring-blooming perennial with attractive long, narrow, green foliage with silver spots. The pink buds open to reveal cobalt-blue flowers which bloom on the ends of arching stems and can add color to completely shady beds. They can handle some morning sun but need to be in afternoon shade to avoid leaf scorch. This Lungwort is semi-evergreen in warmer areas.

Maintenance:

Maintenance Type: Perennial - Herbaceous
Plant Care: Perennial - Herbaceous (soft-stemmed plants that die back in winter and regrow in spring): Remove spent blooms to promote rebloom later. Some plants tend to flop over after the first bloom and attempt to regrow from the base; in these cases, the old stems can be cut away in summer. As plants become dormant in the fall, remove dead leaves and stems.
